Hello,

I recently purchased my first boat. I am planning on installing some older car audio i have laying around. I have 1 smaller Amp (Rockford Fosgate Punch 40x2) to push 1 10" sub. With 1 battery I probably won't be using the amp while the engine is off. I will be running the remote wire to one of the ACC switches so I can still listen to music without the sub. With an amp that small is it still a major drain on the battery and how strong is the alternator in a 3.0? Am I safe using the amp while cruising the lake? And how long would it be safe to run if I had the engine off?

thanks!

Thanks for the input, I feel confident I will be good since its one smaller amp but wasn't' sure if the alternators on a boat charge very good. Its a 65 amp alt so I think I will be fine.

Well, in accessory position my truck automatically shuts Cd and radio after about 20 minutes to preserve battery for starting.
