adding blue sea add a battery question?

how necessary is adding fuses to this setup
what size cables should i use to connect to the acr
i will not be going long distances with any of the cables

If you don't mind the possibility of burning the boat to the waterline; No fuses and any wire will work.

Otherwise it looks like 6 gauge wire and 80 amps fuses are going to be the most common.

im totally new to all this. ive seen pictures of peoples setups using this "blue sea. add a battery" package. the acr has 2 power cables connected to it, and has other cables(smaller) connected to it( from the bottom middle). im not sure what would be connected there?

The fuses are there for a reason, use them where recommeded.

Wire size depends on the output of your alternator. You don't say, so we can't say what size wires you should use.

The other connections go to the Starting circuit, An indicator LED and Ground.
The wiring, Fuses, and all the other connections are all covered in the instructions.

No offense, for your own safety, if you are not willing to to read the instructions, I would suggest you search for someone to install it for you.

And I say that in a most concerned way.

The starting circuit disables the ACR to keep you from smoking it when cranking the engine.
NOT Optional. It is only one small hookup wire!

The LED lets you know if the ACR is working. Not absolutely required.
But why would you not want to install the system properly.

Your line of questioning indicates that you would attempt to install the ACR by doing AS Little as Necessary.
It's purpose is to prevent you from being stranded at sea.
This is a potential life saving device.
If not installed properly, it become a live threatening device.
It should be install by doing As Much as Possible.

If you have not read the directions In the link above, and you do not have the mind set to install it properly and completely, I suggest that you pass on this option.
It would be better to not have it at all, then have it installed half arsed.
