I own a 1987 Wellcraft Elite with a chevy 350, can anyone tell me if it is possible to add through hull exhaust maybe with captains call, and if possible some type of a guess what it would cost?

Re: Adding Captains Call

Search this forum for tons of info on Corsa and others. Cost about $1000 for a new system, if you do the work. Ebay has used systems for half that $$, if you know what you need.

You probably will not have wiring or switch in that age of boat for the electric shutter switch on a Cap. Call system.

There is a diagram out here someplace of how to measure the space between the stern and your risers to see if you have enough room. Good luck!

Some advice...there is not really any real world performance benefit w/ selectable exhaust on a stock or mild SBC.....
BUT.....

I love the sound!
Go for it and good luck!
As stated above, Corsa new or ebay are the best bets.

Just to add to bomar76's comment - there is said to be a slight decrease in performance. The prop creates a vacuum which sucks the exhaust out...

I bought a 1985 Wellcraft Nova XL 23 a couple years ago with Merc 260. The previous owner installed Corsa's Silent Choice system, which was an attractive selling feature t this buyer! The boat goes about 2 mph faster when thru hull is selected (meas by GPS). Mostly sounds and looks cool. But in all honesty, most of the time I'm glad I can turn it off. It's too loud.
