The pontoon project continues, converted from I/O to outboard a season or two ago. Now adding a center toon. I relocated mounts to match my crossmembers. Adding lifting strakes as well.

Test fit the center toon, the new toon is slightly larger diameter, the side toons are 21", the new toon is 23".20250525_203556_HDR.jpg

When I test fit it I realized that the original toons have longer mounts, moving them lower in relation to the crossmembers. The new toon is tucked up closer to the crossmembers so in the end the three toons are almost level at the bottom. The center toon is lower but only by like 1/4" to 1/2" inch. I know that there are tritoons with a lower center toon for performance reasons, I was anticipating the center being a couple inches deeper, getting more bouancy and lift out of the center toon. I could add square tube (2" or 3") between the toon and the crossmembers to lower the center toon. Would you anticipate a noticeable benefit in bouancy/stability? Thanks!
