Ok, I have a 20.5 ft tahoe q7i, it has a 5.0mpi and bravo 1 outdrive. I currently run a 17 pitch 14.25 4 blade stainless solas prop. My wot rpm are 5200, which is 200 to many. I don't really want to give up holeshot, so what do you guys think about just adding a little more cup to my prop. I have talked to a couple of prop guys and they said that a little more cup would drop the rpm 200 and that it wouldn't affect the holeshot. What are your opinions on doing this? Thanks in advance.

They made a good inexpensive suggestion, and it will also give you a little extra speed.

im runnin a 17ft mckee hull with 175. cav level with bottom of transom
running 48 at 5600 motor is 175 crossflow .moved up one hole pickup 200 rpm
alsop im runnin a sst omc 14 x21p want to know how the effects of adding jcakplate to my setup is im thinkin of adding panther manual with 5 inchs of setback and rasing motor till waterpressure drops then bac down till i pick it up again plus a little ,iknow there is no need for low water pickup or cone under 70 mph shoul gain 400 rpm or so puttin me over my goal 5800 5900
at wot .will counter this with tubo txp 14 x22 hopefully killing some rpm and
gaining some mph .i know this hull is not built for speed ,not trying to race but trying to max setup .60 mph gps is my goal .im also runnin smart tab sx series tabs .they work wekk to get on plane and help bow hop and boat control ,anyone with any suggestions please speek up good or bad
also lookin at srx prop?

Benny - start a new thread

OP - cupping is good solution to bring your RPM's down without spending alot of money. However, I wouldn't expect any more speed out of it as mentioned above, unless you are hitting the rev-limiter with your current setup.
