I have a 2007 glassmaster fiberglass split console bow rider. It has the typical molded bench seats that wrap the bow of the boat for seating. Access to all the storage space below this area is limited to hatches in front of and beside the split consoles. Wondering if it's ok to cut in a couple of 10 x 16 inch hatches on the top of the bench sections, or if this is somehow structural for the bow of the boat? I have to wonder why they didn't have access openings to this area when built...
