I guess I just can't leave well enough alone. I got my 1981 J25RWCIM running great, and so I decided to give it a few more horsepower by swapping out the carb. Comparing the part numbers, I can go up to 35hp with just a carb swap - no manifold or exhaust modification required.
The 35hp carb arrived today (from a 1980 E35ELCSM 1980), and it has an electric choke attached. I did verify that the carb I was getting still had the same manual choke lever (part number) as the one it's replacing, so I can easily hook up the manual choke. But what the heck, an electric choke might be nice.
Only one problem - how do I go about hooking the thing up? There are two leads coming from the solenoid - One appears to be ground, and the other is a mystery. Maybe because mine is a manual start/manual choke model I don't have the correct wiring connections anywhere for this? The donor motor was an electric start.
