Adding fluid to Trim & Tilt on 2013 Evinrude 90 hp Etec

I read an earlier post on here saying to run the Tilt and Trim up and down and then raise it and wait 10 minutes to let air escape. Then add more fluid. I have raised my motor all the way up and waited up to as much as an hour and I cannot add any more fluid. I loosen the fill screw and fluid starts to come out. Yet when I try to operate the Trim & Tilt the motor will hardly go up making a lot of noise like there is air in the system. I think it holds 21 ounces of fluid and I don't have more than 16 ounces.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Try running it up and down ten times once and see what happens.

my 2005 75hp ETEC did the same last year...I had to get the seals serviced. Even after refilling the oil eventually spilled out . Doing a reseal on the T&T is apparently not rocket science ...but I chicken out because I would have had to get a special tool to take it apart and my annual fishing trip was coming up

the 75hp ETEC needed special BRP bio degradable oil ($$$$) but based on various comments I went mineral ($) no issues yet T&T worked fine all summer last year…..

for etec specific issues on I3 ETECS visit

Yup - I would have to manually help it up and down at first, and then add fluid every time it was fully up. It gradually started getting better and finally tilted all by itself and wouldn't take any more fluid. It has been working fine since this procedure.

Mine wasn't leaking. Apparently a lot of air in the system and not much fluid. Every up-down cycle must have bled a little more air. Finally got to the point where all the air was out because it wouldn't take any more fluid.

Thanks everyone for your help. I have continued to add fluid. Evinrude Trim & Tilt fluid. I have to keep lowering (which seems to be good) and then slowly raising. When I raise it is very slow and sounds like air in the system. When I open the fill screw it burps air and the fluid is foamy. Sometimes it seems like it's starting to work better and then I'll let it set and it won't work again.
