I did a quick search but only turned up 3 results.

My previous boat had a TON of grease fittings. My Alpha 1 gen 2, not so much. Since i have the outdrive and bellhousing off, i'm going to remove the gimble ring and replace the upper seal (gonna do this once and enjoy it for a few seasons) and lower bushing.

I see rust up by the upper swivel. I know some of the drives had grease fittings here. Anyone have a pic of them adding one?

What about the lower bushing?

Also, has anyone capped the hole for the shift cable and driveshaft to wet test? I was thinking it wouldn't be a bad idea to do but finding a rubber cap for a hole that big...
Thanks!

I figure while i have it apart, i might as well reconfigure the interior also. Gonna add a sun pad on the back. I'm starting to think i'll never have her in the water.

As I recall the upper swivel shaft in the alpha I has a hole in the center shaft that feeds grease down and out through a hole to the lower swivel shaft bushing. I guess if your shaft is hollow and if it has the hole to feed grease to the bushing it might work. You would want to make sure that you do not drill into the upper bushing if you try this.

stony, thats how i install a fitting in the upper.
grind a flat area, drill a 1/16 th inch hole thru the housing and thru the bushing. countersink to allow tapping for a zerk fitting.
