Will work just fine. Done so myself. Don't forget to pull the trim sensor if it has one off the port transom bracket. Be careful to support the motor in the full tilt position with the starboard support latch and a 2x4 at the gear box as you're going to need to take the port side tilt tube nut and transom mounting bolts off in order to slide the port transom bracket over about half an inch or so to exchange the tilt assist assembly with the T&T hydraulic unit.
