i have a 97-98 mercury force 120 hp outboard.... What is a good way to adjust carbs and timing? I have a problem with the motor stalling out when idling for a while and it might be a carb and timing issue? Is there a certain amount of turns for the carb adjustment for this certain type of motor? Both top and bottom carb should be adjusted to the same amount of turn, correct? Thanks for yalls help?

Re: adjusting carbs and timing

First item you should think about is a service manual. Preferably one published by Force or Clymer. It outlines the steps for setting timing and carburetor adjustments. Other basic things to check are compression, spark plugs/spark, fuel re-circulation system, fuel pump/supply. All of which can contribute to poor idling.
