92 48 spl.

Waiting on carb kits, new roller sleeve and then I'll have fresh everything... plugs, wires, lines...starting fresh but what I cant understand is how the idle is set...if there is always a tiny gap between the cam roller and carb butterfly...how is adjusting any screw "idle stop" changing the idle. I ask because I like to picture and understand the system as I go thru it.

while I have you here..what is evinrudes initial idle mixture screw setting. 1.5 turns out? 2.5?

Thanks.

Thank you.. watched the video in the past and will again. Still wondering how it is effecting idle. It seems it only changes/moves the timing arm ehich reaches under the flyeheel.

At idle the throttle plates MUST be closed !-----If motor is in good condition it may still idle too fast.----The motor is then slowed to a nice idle RPM by retarding the timing.-----Idle timing is the point where throttle plates start to open.-----And there is the maximum timing advance.----Do not make any timing changes until you fully understand the concept !!
