Ran my motor in a rain barrel the other day and was thinking I might need to raise the idle up a 100 to 200 rpm. The boat tach showed 1100 in nuetral. Soory, forgot to look at the rpm when in forward gear.
I`ve supplied a photo of the motor and would like someone to add an arrow to the nut and bolt that needs adusting.
Looked this topic up first before posting here and saw talk of the adjustment being at the linkage tower. I think I know what the tower is but not sure what location the nut and bolt is.
The best I can give for description of my motor is it`s a 1994 Force 40 horse, 2 cyl, with power trim.

Silver slotted screw left side 3/4 way up from bottom of your pick. That's the idle adjustment screw.

It may be the angle of the picture but it looks like your linkage is off. Is the line on the cam aligned at center of the roller at idle setting?

Also the manual calls for the throttle cable to be adjusted after any adjustments to the idle screw.

Looks fine to me, maybe slightly off center of roller.

If your idle is 1100 in N then your close.
Need to know what the rpm's in F
750-800 is about right.
Like Brian said the shiny slotted screw with lock nut is the idle adjusting screw.
