Does raising trim raise or lower bow. My boat takes water over transom before coming up on plane.

Re: adjusting trim

Raising the trim (trim out) pushed down on the transom in turn pops bow up.
Lowering trim (trim in) lifts up the transom in turn pushed bow down.

Re: adjusting trim

It is pretty unusual to take water over the transom when trying to plane. What kind of boat are we discussion? What HP?

Sounds like you might need to trim down more.

Agreed. You have something seriously wrong there. Where is all your heavy stuff?

For sure! Start with trim all the way DOWN -- If that does'nt do it you have other issues

I think we're assuming you're giving it enough gas to push it over on plane-RIGHT

It's a 14 ft runabout wth a 40 hp merc. It was originally an I/O but someone cut a notch in the transom and put the outboard on it.
