I am attempting to set my advance timing on my 1990 johnson 60hp using the reeve method. I downloaded a so called Manuel and it was no use. I trying to get the advance timing numbers for my motor.
Thank you

Off the top of my head I believe it’s either 26 or 28. I used to remember this stuff when I worked in them everyday.

Geez, now that I said that I’m starting to second guess myself, hopefully someone else can chime in on this.

The guy i bought the boat from said he trying to adjust the butterflies. Thats when i informed him that he was adjusting the timing screw. I have no clue how far he adjusted the screw

So was he adjusting the one under the flywheel? Or one of the screws on the side for the throttle assembly?

Every OMC Outboard(FICHTs being an exception) since the late 70s had the Max Timing on a Decal on the Air Silencer
