Guy will sell for 2200 but does not know make of hull. Engine is 1980. 14" Boat - 40HP - Trailer
I'm looking for something that's easy on gas that I can fish on while my wife reads.
I fish in Florida saltwater, inshore

That's really pretty high in price.

I would want ALLOT more info on the boat make and year........

The pre 1984 evinrudes/johnsons were head rated for HP and even though they are great motors their value is not that high.

He doesn't know the make-so he has no title?? How about a title for the trailer? Price is really too high, unless you don't need a title in Fl.

IMHO, way to much even if he had all the info and paperwork in order. I'd walk away...

Re: Advice. Good deal?

The boat looks like it's possibly a re-work on one of the older bass hulls (there were bundles of those tri-hull types). That would explain him trying to get his money back outta' the boat.

What's got me is that there is no registration sticker on it. Ad makes it sound like he's been running it for some time, but the photo's show a pretty new clean boat and no registration sticker. Somethings a little off there ...

Whatever you do ... try runnin' it in the water first.

The 1980's boat and motor isn't worth close to that price. I would have a hard time offering $1000 for it.

Re: Advice. Good deal?

Just to clarify a couple of statements:

You can register a boat in FL with a Bill of Sale in order to obtain a title.

The registration sticker in FL has to be on the port side, which is not shown in the pics.

FL only charges sales tax on the hull, not the motor or trailer, so a Bill of Sale should show each of the prices separately.

What I don't understand is why this seller doesn't know the make and year of boat. The registration would show that.

Sandy refinishers are coming out already in states that only require a Bill Of Sale ????

You will do much better for less money.
