I fish (trot line) the Trinity river (east Texas)and at low levels the sand bars and snags make it really difficult to navigate the river. I think a tunnel hull might be the answer, but can't find much information on them. Anybody have advice for a jon boat type tunnel hull? I'll choose my own outboard, although I understand a jet might be best. Thanks for any advice. I'm open to a used rig, but want a steering console for my wife.

For what it's worth, what we used in the Delaware in north Jersey where the water can go from being 10' deep to 10" deep in 100' for emergency purposes (rescue) was a Lowe 16" jon w/console and jet drive or the next town above us had a riged hull inflatable w/jet and console.

There is a good bit on information on Jet boats and tunnel hulls here at Alaska Mining and Diving

Won't so you much good for buying, but the info may help. We run tunnel hull jetboats in all sizes up here, mostly with outboard jets.
