Hey what's up guys I'm thinking about purchasing this boat the guy said to make him an offer on the hull and trailer I told him I didn't want the 2 stroke thinking of repowering with a 4 stroke. How much should I offer him if everything is good on hull? Thinking of hiring a surveyor to checkout the hull for me. What do you guys think the hull and trailer is worth? It's a 95 robalo 2120 by the way thanks in advance I'll try to post some pictures. I forgot to mention that he wanted 9k with the 2 stroke engine and trailer here's the Craigslist ad

If that Mariner has been taken care of it should be bullet proof,..

The motor is worth nothing......the trailer is worth $1,000 at best.

So now your looking at a 23 year old boat without a motor.

Can’t tell the condition of the hull from the pictures. Any soft spots or rot would reduce the value even more.

Repowering this boat with a decent 4 stroke would put you upside down in the deal if he gave you the boat....

The boat is a no go for me given the open transom design. Good way to swamp a boat.

It’s worth what somebody will pay!!! That said it looks like a decent boat it’s all in how it was taken care. Sometimes all we can afford is 23 year old boats. If that’s what your looking for then give him a low ball offer and make him tell ya another price.

Doesn't look bad from the pics. I have a 95" 115HP Mariner 2 stroke and it's as solid as it was new. As far as the lower transom design it's similar to my StarCraft and a buddy's 21' centre council StarCraft, that's what large water wells are for. Ask him what he wants out of it after you have searched the Internet for a similar boat and go to the NADA site to get a ballpark idea of value. If he won't throw a number at you offer 2 grand and start from there. It\s worth 2K all day long, I'd buy it myself for 2K. The Mariner if good is worth 5 grand here all day long.

The guy is asking way too much. According to the NADA he is about 2K over book.

Thanks for the advice guys I'm gonna check it out tomorrow and hopefully have more pictures and maybe even take a surveyor if I can find one in the San Luis obispo area. I told him I'd pass on the 2 stroke he's willing to sell me just the hull and trailer. One of my buddies said he thinks the hull alone is worth about 3 to 4k max does that sound reasonable if there's no rot? Any advice on how to look for rot or soft spots? Anything else I should look for in case I can't get surveyor? Sorry for all the questions just don't want to get into a mess
