I don't know about that particular engine, but as a rule of thumb (and outlined in manuals), don't stay at full throttle for more than a few seconds, and vary your speed- don't just set it at 3k for the day. If I were you, I wouldn't go full throttle at all until a few hours have gone-by.

The manufacturer usually recommends a valve adjustment after the first 25 hours, but it varies with the engine. I'm sure you can find a manual for the engine somewhere. That would give you the exact procedure.

Just replaced one in mine. In addition, for the first 10 hrs avoid long idle times, come off idle as soon as safely possible. Good rule of thumb is 1st hour 1-2k RPMs, 2nd & 3rd hr 2-3k RPMs, 4th & 5th hour 3-4k RPMs, after 5th hour no sustained running at WOT for longer than 2-3 mins. Though out break-in you will want to vary your RPMs as much as feasible, and try not to run more than 3/4 throttle for the first ten hours.

Hope this helps.
