Hello all,

My brother in law is looking to buy a 2003 Larsen 23' lxi (I think) It has the mercruiser 350 mag with dual prop. Does any one have one of these or have some knowledge of them. I own an older Wellcraft with an 235 rude outboard so I don't know how much help I might be to him. But I do know there is all the knowledge one could ever need right here. Thanks for taking time to help fellow boaters out.

I too would like to know about the quality and performance of Larson boats.. We owned two of them when I was growing up in the 60's/70's and they were good boats but I have no idea about them now.. I hope they aren't another Genmar boat..

They have been under Genmar for quite a few years. For pricing comparisons I would expect a Larson to be lower in price than a Crownline, Four Winns, or Regal.

Re: Advise on larsen boats

I have an '02 21LXI with the 5.0L Volvo (carbed). It has been a great boat for us, problem free. We use it about 75 hours each year (not much, I know), get it serviced every spring (tuneup, replace impeller) and it has been a good boat. Always fresh water though.

We put a wakeboard tower on it and it tows tubes, skiers and wakeboarders all day long. I have had it at 50 mph (gps) with myself in the boat. It has held up well and still looks almost new. You can see a picture of it in the monster tower website under customer boats. It is the blue one with the white pickup in the background.

I would put the quality build of the boat (at least the lxi models) somewhere around or just below sea ray. (My opinion, don't get excited everyone).
