Re: aerator pumps

Usually at the back of the boat as that's where the intakes are. They are ineffective as "lift pumps" so the intakes need to be at or below the water line. If you know you have more than one and none of them work, I'd be looking at fuses/breakers, wiring, and/or switches to make sure they are ok before replacing pumps. It would be highly unusual to have all pumps fail.

I havnt done that yet but the intakes are pumping but theres no aeration going on theres a fill switch and a aerate two way switch, i will try and trace the wiring down and check it out, I found the fill pump just cant get a good look at it with out pulling the fuel cells but it is pumping the boat hadnt been registered since 96

Re: aerator pumps

That helps. I thought we were talking about a spray type aerator -- not an air type. So I gather that the live well pumps fill the tank ok but the aerater doesn't work? There are two hoses on the far end of the aerator. Disconnect either or both of them, turn the aerator on and if its running, you should feel air at the outlet. If you do, then check for a pinched or broken hose or clogged aerator head. If you don't feel air, check the other end of the aerator. It appears there is a knob there that might allow adjusting the air volume. Someone may have turned it way down. But if you can't feel air at the outlet, the aerator needs repair or replacement.
