Re: after market brake dust shields --- hey Larry_F
They work pretty well, but:

They do reduce the airflow around your disks. Most of the time that is no problem, but if you get into a long downhill when you use the brakes a lot it may become a problem.
Re: after market brake dust shields --- hey Larry_F
Alot of this depends on the type of vehicle they are to be used on. Ventelated rotors seem to hold up well with the use of the dust shields, but non ventelated rotors are commonly warped due to excessive heat retaind in the rotors.

Different brand shields may yield different results. Due to the amount of air flow.
Re: after market brake dust shields --- hey Larry_F
Your brake pad wear will increase. On Mercedes the pad life will cut in half.
Rotors warping on a Benz is almost non-existant but with dust shields it's common.

The dust sticks to the inside of the shields. When I hit the lugs with an impact gun it loosens it all. It leaves a pile of dust under each tire I remove.
I hate them plenty.

They work great on my pick-up. Got em' at Whitney. But then again, I really don't let much dust stay on for too long anyway. Keep it pretty clean...
