I've just gone through a 18302b. New everything under fly wheel, both pumps, carb rebuild, inline filter lower reseal. Tested her in a drum and and adjusted the lsd mix. Toyed with that for some time and noticed oil in the drum. I know it's not a big deal with 2 strokes but wanted to b sure . Drained gear oil to find ot had just a minute bit of water. Dropped the lower to find an oily substance all up in the exhaust housing. Looks like to much to b from the gear box. Would the toying around with the low speed mix cause this build up? One other thing, when I did the shifter O ring I did over seat the bushing just a little. Could that cause it?

very common for oil buildup in the exhaust on 2-strokes.

Completely normal, especially in a barrel. It is the oil that you put in the gas, has gone through the engine and done it's job. Then what doesn't burn goes out the exhaust.. It will be much cleaner once adjusted and on a boat on the lake where it was designed to run.
