Hi all,
This weekend I replaced my impeller for my water intake on my Port motor, once I was all done I fried it up and and it ran fine, but makes a little noise that wasn't there before? and it makes it in or out of gear. I did have alittle trouble getting it back in, so I tapped the motor over to line up the drive shaft and finaly but it to slide up into place so I could bolt it together. The shift lever down under in front is in position and inside the little bracket that holds it into possition. Is it possible that the little shifting shaft in the bottom of my outdrive rotated a bit and got out of alinement?
If so when I drop to lower out drive how do I go about getting it lined up where it should be and is there any little tricks to get to get it to go together smoother?
Thank's for you time, and help

It MUST be disassembled and re assembled while in forward gear or you will at best bend the shift shaft. Easy to align by rotating the prop backwards instead of bumping the engine over.

Thank's for the info, is there a way to make sure the shift shaft is in the right possition on my lower outdrive before trying to install?

Thank's again for your help

I pulled it back apart and lined it up (right this time) and it's back to normal.

Thank's for your help
