It now seems that I have 25 hours on my Mercury 2007 60 4-Stroke.

I would like to do the initial drain and flush on the motor.

What do I need to do in order to make this motor last.

I know to change the foot oil. Also to change the motor oil and the filter.

What do you guys recommend here? The dealer wanted me to bring it back to them after the 25 Hours but to be honest with you; I don't trust them to do it correctly. I trust that I would do it correctly if given someone with experience told me what needed to be done.

Since the break-in period is pretty much over now, I would like to run pure synthetic. What is you take on this?

Thank you in advance..

Re: After the break-in..

On my 07' 90 4 stroke I changed the engine oil and filter at 20 hours. Also changed the lower unit fluid and inspected for any water intrusion. This is what my dealer told me to do and that there was no service needed until 100 hours. I plan on running the Merc. semi-synthetic oil as long as it's under warranty. Not that another brand would void any warranty, but I feel better using what the manufactuer recommends.
