Aftermarket Bellows vs. OEM

Hello,

I'm having to replace my gear end yoke, seal, gimbal bearing, and u-joints on my Alpha1 GenII. I'm going with all Mercruisers bearings and seals. My question is about aftermarket bellows. In particular the ones manufactured by Sierra(sold here in iBoats). Are they similar quality to the Mercruiser parts? There doesn't appear to be much in price difference in the cable and exhaust bellow but there is a significant price difference on the u-joint bellow.

Any input will be much appreciated.

Thank You

ya've gone to the trouble of usein oem so far. why stop now. especially for such a critical part as the bellows......i'm sure the sierra ones are just dandy. but i've usually found oem parts is the way to go, if ya can, 1- get them, 2- afford them........:D

Re: Aftermarket Bellows vs. OEM

Any aftermarket part that is listed a direct replacement part for a OEM part must be equal in quality

I second the aftermarket route - nothing wrong with Sierra, etc. Most important thing is to change them out before they bust or rot.
