Have a 3.0lx alpha one, was wondering if anyone has had any luck with the Chinese 135$ replacement carbs on Amazon or ebay. Would rather just bolt another one on than rebuild. My boat is cold blooded and doesn't like the idle set below 1rpm or it begins to run rough and stalls.

save your money. chinese carbs are crap.

a rebuild kit is $35. learn to clean your own carb. its about a 30 minute job.

If the engine has trouble running at speeds below 1000 rpm, then you have some Troubleshooting in store for you.
First thing is a Compression Test. Post the numbers
Can the Spark jump a 3/8" Gap on all plug wires?
Is the Timing set properly?
Is the Choke unwinding fully, allowing the Fast Idle Cam to drop?
Are there any Vacuum Leaks?
Is the Float set correctly?
Are the Idle Mixture Screws adjusted correctly?

How long have you owned this Engine?

Ordered a thermostat also, the motor doesn't warm up much. I'm guessing it's stuck open. Could also be a contributing factor.
