I'm needing to buy a new shifter control for my 2000 Maxum 1900SR. Anybody have any opinions on which brand might be best? Teleflex seems to be popular brand that I see alot while searching the internet.

So, without saying what type or make of engine you have, I'll make some assumptions. Since you have a Maxxum, I'll guess you have an I/O, in that case a Mercruiser, and you have a side mount binnacle. Now, both Teleflex and Uflex make nice aftermarket binnacles, but you'll need new cables because they both use universal cables, whereas a Quicksilver Commander Classic (which is probably what you have) uses Merc specific cables.

Why don't you look on CL or eBay for a good, slightly used Commander Classic or Commander 3000? Same hole pattern, same cables, same wiring as your current binnacle, and probably a lot less money...

Thanks for the advice. Your assumption was right Mercruiser 5.0 V8 I/O. I've looked on CL and Ebay without much luck. That's why i was considering just buying a new one. This is my 1st boat..purchased last summer. I've had some issues with shifting as well as the trim button and was told that my best bet would be to go ahead and replace it.
