age and HP of an evinrude

I’d like to find out the age and HP of an evinrude I think it’s a 25 HP I was told. I had a web site that had all that information but lost it all when my computer crashed.<br /><br />Anyway Ser# 004153<br /> Mod# 15-acis <br />Not sure if it is reversed

No, I think you have it right. The CI in the model number indicates it's a 1981 outboard, the 15 indicates it's a 15hp. The A doesn't make much sense, could that be a R for Rope-Start? The S is the model run letter, which is meaningless.<br /><br /> OMCID, click here.

WOW !!<br />Thanks; a life saver you are!!<br />The old boy at first thought it was a 15 then the next day it was a 25. The poor old guy had no idea what year it was and I needed to know before I make him an offer on the deal.<br />Much thanks again!<br />PS: I'll save that site you gave me..

Thanks again guys, as it turned out I just drove 130 miles round trip for nothing, junk all of it. A nice day for a drive !!
