While I have the engine out to clean up the pulleys I'd like to remove the air actuator water drain system. One actuator is on the back of the raw water pump, made of brass which is bolted to a metal bracket which is bolted to the motor. the new pump back is made of plastic. Will it be fine to bolt the new plastic backing plate to the metal bracket it which hangs off the motor, basically sandwiching the plastic backing plate? To remove the other actuator all I need is a 6 inch piece of 1"1/4 OD pipe.

You are completely removing the drain system and using a standard pump body?

What I did find is there is 1 bolt hole on the bracket that does not sit flush with the housing , needs a spacer or you can crack the bracket or the housing . Remove the bracket and test fit everything first

Suggest installing one of these at the pump, so it can be drained easy, unless its easy to remove hoses

I test fit it and it will work fine. I was just over analyzing it as usual. The plastic backing plate has metal collars for the bolt holes.

The other side isn't easy to get to either so something like that would be perfect. I do see these are 4inch long so not sure if it would work for my set up or not

Yes 4 inch long, but the hose covers over each side. I have one installed on mine on output side going toward thermostat housing

Ok I getcha. I'm sure I could make one work. Would really like to keep a drain on that side.
