here's the model# to my 35 hp johnson #1870721, with the air flow problem. if it is an exhaust leak how do i fix it. thanks for your help

Usually, the exhaust leaks are from the powerhead to exhausrt tower gasket leaking.

Hi groundhog<br />You posted the ser# not the mod#. What Djohns says is true. You will have to find the leak before I can tell you how to repair it. If indeed this is the problem. Mix up a small test batch of fuel using double the oil. This will provide a little more smoke to help find the leak.
