airguide tachometers.

does anyone have any knowledge on airgued tachometers. i have 2 cylinder outboard and was wondering what model of airguide tachometer i need, or do they all have different settings? i have an airguide speedometer so i want to match the gauge for my boat restore, thanks

they should have a movable setting on the back.

It's for an 80s OMC with a 5 pole stator right?

If so, you need one that says it's for an outboard w/ charging system that can be set to 5 poles or 10 pulses per revolution. A lot of the old airguides you see on ebay are for outboards with different ignition systems (there were a lot in the '60s and 70s) and will not be compatible with your outboard. Unless the seller has specific knowledge of what outboards their tach will work on, or you can precisely ID the model, those tachs are pretty well worthless.

Less than 70hp = 10 pole 5 pulse. all sea drives and all other models = 12 pole 6 pulse.

thanks everyone for the input. i was hoping i could use one. my outboard is a 85 45hp commercial, electric start
