alarm beeps 5 times

I have a 91 Mercury Force 90 hp. I went to start it and the new battery was dead. I put another battery in, all charged up, but now the alarm is beeping and I can't figure out why. It beeps five times seemingly randomly. I heard it beep once last night, sitting in the driveway, and once this morning. This battery is holding it's charge, so I don't know if the two are related.

It sounds like the overheating alarm, except it's intermittent, not constant. And it beeps when the key is off.

The over-heat alarm is steady

Locate the source of the alarm, so we know what is beeping??
Could be a low battery alarm or low depth in the water alarm or fish-finder or could be an alarm clock??
it may have nothing to do with the actual motor

91 90hp shouldn't have any alarm other than the overheat alarm.
It sounds like the key switch might be faulty?
WD in the switch, unhook the battery, activate the switch and spray a couple more times.
Or replace it.
Then unhook the sender on the block and see if it still beeps. No? then the sensor might be faulty?

The depth finder could be the problem, it seems like you shut them off but some don't turn off completely.
The radio if it's digital, it never shuts off either.
