1995 60 hp mercury It was beep beep beeping was advised to unplug oil sensor and it stopped I plugged sensor back in and turned the oil tank over and beeping stopped so i suppose its the tank but i was wondering how u can tell if oiler is working and if you can do away with the oiler on this motor and just mix in fuel

You can do away with the oiler & premix.But the system you have is pretty bulletproof.<br />the floats in them tanks are not though.You can buy a new tank or just keep an eye on it.Premnixing runs 50:1 all the time,where with oil injection your running approximately 100:1 at idle and as you advance throttle it gets more oil.Your call but injection is a whole lot cheaper

so your saying not to worry to much about the oiler not working <br />and thanks all of you guys for your help saved me alot of money already thanks again

If you have any doubts, put oil (1 qt/12 gallons) in the fuel tank, mark the oil tank and watch it to make sure the level goes down over time. The alarm happened for a reason, although maybe bogus.<br /><br />BTW, my '95 150HP just ate it's oil drive gear on the crankshaft ... I hope yours is a better design than a plastic helical drive gear deal! Should have lasted way more than 400 hrs.
