I have a1996 ciera ext. want to repower. Also all new I/o any suggestions. Motor has 20 psi after I put a load on her n started throwing oil on the portside. Didn't wann blow it up. Out on the ocean in southeast ak.

Yeah, pretty difficult to diagnose anything with the limited info, but 20 psi compression out of any motor isn't good, unless your talking about a weed whacker....

but if you want to repower anyway I think 20psi in your current motors(rings) is a pretty good indication that your boat is ready!

Or are you talking 20 psi oil pressure? Reved up you oughta at least have 40-60 psi, 20 psi at idle is fine when shes warmed up.
20 psi compression pressure = rebuild time.
