Alignment/Motor Mount question

I just got done aligning my 2000 SX drive, with a 5.0 Gi engine.

My motor mounts are adjusted all the way down and cannot go any further.

At this time my drive is aligned properly, but if I ever have to adjust it down again, I'm in trouble

Does this mean it's for new motor mounts??

My first question would be Why did you suddenly have to adjust the motor mounts that far on a 11 year old boat?

That's close to where they were when I bought the boat 4 yrs ago. I brought them down about 1 complete turn to bottom out.

The good news, is it really shouldn't change. After you did your alignment, did you turn the engine a 1/2 turn and try the alignment bar again?

Don,
There's a double nut on the lower portion of the motor mount. I loosened the top or lock nut then
underneath there is two nuts. They are touching.

The manufacturer either made the stringers too high, or they cut the transom cutout to low.

Don,
Are the double nuts on the bottom section normal?

Re: Alignment/Motor Mount question

The bottom nut is part of what holds the mount together, the upper one is what adjusts mount height.
