A buddy of mine wants me to buy his 1988 Aluminum Starcraft Islander 220. I’ve noticed spots that look like cancer on various locations on the hull below the water line. Not within the rivets but on the alm. Is this repairable? Being 73, bored, love boats, looking for a fun project; should I not undertake this project? Any advise will be greatly appreciated. Boat lived in salt water up in Monterey Ca. Thanks

Welcome aboard.

As a famous gambler once sang;

You've got to know when to hold 'em
Know when to fold 'em

In order to offer advice, some pictures would help us say hold 'em or fold 'em.

Very hard to send a picture when I’m now in Henderson Nv where I could finally get the COVID Shot. Now to wait another 21 days to get my second shot. I will post pictures when back in L. A. Ca.
