Hey Guys< I'm stumpped. 1976 mercury 150 inline 6 - Was running the boat across the lake after about 1/2 day of riding and motor was running strong. Headed back in it just died, like I reached over and shut key off. As Dad worked the problem over in his head I decided to go ahead and replace the boat side harness, so here today - New boat side harness, New switch box, and disduribtor cap on order, but still have not a lick of fire, Belt is good. Was told that Stator on this motor was only for charging as I only have 2 wires comming from stator. Motor just clicks on starter coil also now, but will spin over when we jump the starter but No Fire. Somebody told me "BOAT"
