I have a 1993 Chris Craft BR 217 with a 5.0 l Ford OMC Cobra EFI. Last year I had a catastrophe with discovering a rotten transom and my engine hydrolocking out on the water... I got all the water out, changed the oil, filter, plugs and ran the engine for about 30 minutes before taking it to my garage for surgery. It ran great. I pulled the plugs and put oil in each cylinder along with a squirt of fogging oil. It has been a long road to recovery. I am finishing up the transom project along with some other maintenance I decided to do while it was apart. Yesterday, I decided to change the oil again and noticed it was a little milky, not much. Could this be some leftover water that mixed when I was getting the engine running after the initial hydrolocking? I went ahead and poured a few quarts back in and pumped them out and then changed the filter and re-filled. I also took the plugs out and put an oz or so of oil back in the cylinders and spun the engine by hand. It turns very smoothly... Now I am worried to death about it sitting for so many months with oil that may have some moisture in it... Any precautions before firing it up for the 1st time?
