Alpha 1, 2 gimbal housing

I have a 92 mercruiser outdrive that starts with 'OF....' that has some corrosion where the drive boot attaches on the gimbal housing. I have access to another gimbal that starts with 'OK.....' which according to my book is the 96-97 unit. Are the gimbal housing's compatible? Thank you.

It should be the same ,was this damage caused by having water in the bellow?

I don't know, it is a boat that is 'new' to me. I would assume it may be but, the inside of the bellows is actually very clean. Not even as much grease as I'm used to seeing. I have only pulled the outdrive at this point.
