I have been working on my out drive for several weeks. Replacing bearings and u-joints?. While looking at the mercruiser manual I see shims between the bearings and the gear drive assembly, while taking it apart I did not notice them. Then tonight I see them on the ground by the work bench, three of them, one larger than the other two. And of course one is all messed up, so I have new ones on the way. My question is does it matter which way they go in or as long as they are between the bearing and the gear drive assembly I will be ok. SERIAL# OL850536 Thanks for your help!
