When I raise the outdrive to the trailer position everything works as it should and you can hear the pump sound change pitch (lower sound) as it hits the limits. When I lower the unit all the way the pump sound never changes even though the outdrive is all the way down.
When I took the boat (2000 Capri 3.0) out the last time I was leaving the marina and gave it the gas to get up on plane. The engine would rev high like the propeller wasn't in the water and the boat would lose speed. This happened a few times so I thought that the outdrive was not staying in the down position. I pressed the down button to make sure the outdrive was down. While this took care of the problem and the boat ran fine the pump never did hit a lower sound pitch when the drive was in the full down position. I also suspect the hydraulic pressure is not holding in the down position. The unit will stay in the trailer position for ever so I don't think there are any problems with the rams. No trace of oil leaking in the water either.
Thanks in advance.
Terry
