Hello -

I have a set of 1992 Alpha One Gen II's on a 30ft searay weekender. Boat is new to me - I don't have much history.

I noticed that the starboard drive is straight yet the port side is about a 1/2" turned.

How do I correct this? -

Everything seems tight and doesn't have any play.

Thanks for your time!!

So is the engine out of "straight" or is the port drive not parallel with the starboard one? If the engine is visibly crooked it will need to be addressed immediately.
Do the reading on engine alignment. It's important because running misaligned wears out parts.
Plus a misaligned engine may indicate poor mounts. On the other hand it can be an optical illusion or a setup that is OK but looks weird.
Bottom line, engine alignment needs check and correct. This is a normal step on a new-to-you boat anyway.

Hello - Thanks for the reply.

I've checked engine alignment - so has the local mercruiser repair shop. The engines are aligned

Its the port drive that is not parallel. I'm asking because I would have thought that both drives would have to be toed-in or out equally.

Where can I find information to at least check if how mine is setup is correct? I've googled it and didn't come up with anything.

Thank You!

If both motors are aligned in a 25 year old boat. Why worry about it now.

Go boating

Ayuh,.... Turn the wheel slightly, 'n both drives will not be perfectly straight, which is exactly the way it should be,...
