Re: ALPHA 1 IMPELLER

well they have about a 7 sec dry run time on a gen 1 and about 10 on a gen 2 before damage

its normal for a pump to take a set in the direction it turns and if its not burnt or worn away then it should be ok at 3 weeks old

if you only did the inpeller and not a compleat kit the condition of the rest of the pump is a factor

the hard part is what led up to your currrent problem

water has to be able to leave the motor and exaust system freely and the best pump in the world wont force it past a bad thermostat or cloged manifold /riser

so some more info about the problem and other things that have been done will help

tommays

Re: ALPHA 1 IMPELLER

I DID A COMPLETE PUMP KIT, HOUSINGS GASKETS, SLINGER RING, ALSO CHANGED MY T-STAT, GIMBLE BEARING, AND ALL THE BELLOWS, AND A NEW SHIFT CABLE. THE PROBLEM WAS WHEN I WAS AROUND 3000 RPM THE ENGINE RAN HOT, JUST IDLEING AROUND IT RAN COOLER, AND PERFECT ON THE MUFFS. THE MANIFOLDS AND RISER WERE JUST WARM. I THEN THOUGHT ABOUT THE IMPELLER SINCE ITS THE ONLY THING I CHANGED OUT. MAYBEE ITS INSTALLED BACKWARDS. IT TURNS OUT IT WAS. SO TODAY I REINSTALLED IT WHILE ROTATING SHAFT CW.

Re: ALPHA 1 IMPELLER

it should be put in clockwise but it will correct itself the first time you start the motor

tommays

OK, if they weren't damaged(sounds like they weren't) you should be ok.

As Stated by Tommays,.......

If it was New when Installed,...
It'll be pointed the Right Way,.... As Soon as you Turn the Key the 1st time.........

If it's New,.... It Can't be installed Backwards.........
