alpha 1 lower unit lube help

i have a 4.3 mercruiser with an alpha 1 and i repaird part of the lower unit ( outside) and when i put it back i refiled the lowe unit from the air hole and from the reseirvor insted the drain /refill hole and i allready use at the lake and works perfect , but when i get home i start readin the post here and i dont know if i did wrong and if somethin i shud do thanks

Yes you should have both the top side plug on the upper out and the plug under the bullet.

Oil (regular grear lube 85w 120-140)
Better to use synthetic blend then full synthetic due to water separation issues with full. But you can use regular too.

Fill from the lower hole until oil comes out the top. Put in top plug (this will create a vacuum and keep oil from rushing out the bottom while you put that plug in).

Then refill the reservoir to the full mark. It may go down a little the first time you use it. Check and top off as necessary.

Use fresh drain plug seals/gaskets each time. Get a good wide blade short shank screwdriver for this and keep it.

Make sure you tighten the drain plugs tight. Put a small wrench on the screwdriver for a little extra leverage. Enough to feel the gasket crush.

You should pull your prop and grease the shaft there too every time you change your drive oil.
