Alpha 1 on v6 engine

My lower unit got destroyed by ice during winter , and I need a new one, since where I live finding one is like finding a unicorn that is out of option ,I did find an alpha 1 gen 1 lower unit for a great price. As far as I can see and tell, If i change the driveshaft from the short one of the alpha drive to a longer one from my old outboard lower unit the rest of the parts are a match and will work ? I just need someone to confirm this. It is a '97 150hp outboard

SEI makes replacement gearcases for your motor. Should be $700 or so for a brand new one.

Not anymore..try $1k with shipping ...even the dealer pricing has went up
