My outdrive has provision for a gear lube reservoir, (there's a ball bearing behind a maroon rubber seal), but there's only a hole in the transom assembly. (I bought the parts from different sources to convert from OMC stringer).

Are the transom parts available separately? I see the plug on the inside to remove and put a hose fitting/tube to a bottle.
I will post serial #'s if required. Thanks.

Ayuh,....

It sounds like all you're lacking is the Bottle, the Line,+ the Bottle Bracket......

Re: Alpha Gen 2 question

Thanks, Bond-O, Don.

I looked at the parts on the Crowley site, I don't think it's what I need.

I was at a local marine service shop yesterday, he had a gen 2 engine swap underway and I was able to observe a ball bearing check valve on the outdrive (like mine) and a smaller but protruding check valve part on the transom assembly. Installing the outdrive would effectively open both sides, allowing oil to flow. I'm lacking the transom part.

On the inside of that passage, I removed a ?" npt brass plug and replaced it with an SMC tube fitting. The tube will go to the bottle, all I'm looking for is the valve for the outside. I'll post some pics if my description is lacking. Thanks.

Ayuh,......

You need the check valve that goes into the Bellhousing, on the outdrive side......

Take your #s to that lookup site,+ you should be able to find the Individual pieces.....

Ok, I found it at mercstuff, it's called a dribble valve. Mercruiser part 18920A 1.
