alpha gen 2 shift shaft bushing

I ordered quicksilver shift shaft bushinkg kit 23-806036A-1. I only got one seal? is it right? I think I have seen two in pictures. And how about the installation of the seal(s): Which side goes up against bushing? the "open" or "closed" side?

Not a Gen 2 expert but hopefully someone will come along. Looking at the manual No 14, it shows only one lip seal and a couple O-rings, then one bushing on top. With all lip type seals, the lip faces the fluid your trying to keep in. In this case the lip (open) faces toward the gear lube

Aren't you trying to keep water out of the shift cavity? Lips should face down towards the exhaust passage...

I'm doing mine soon. Please correct me if wrong.

Yes you are trying to keep water out, the space above the seal is dry.
