alpha gen one hp ratings

hello. was wondering what they can take hp/tq wise. the boat is a 1978 mark twain 898. the old 305 rusted though so its being replaced with a sj 327 around 300 hp.

i believe its around 300 hp, never heard a torque rating, many have over 300hp but you will have to take it easy coming off from a start and coming out of the water, i thinking of doing something similar, with a supercharged Buick 3800 bumped up boost with an inter-cooler around 300 hp and about 35 ft lbs torque
