Alpha interchange?

Good Day,

I have a 1974 Seaswirl 19’ that had the motor and drive replaced in 1990 with a new 1990 3.0lx and Alpha outdrive. The motor is fine but the out drive leaked and froze up with rust. I was wondering if there is another alpha drive that would work with this motor. I believe the current drive is an alpha one gen one. Would a gen two work? Thanks, RJ

Ayuh,..... Welcome Aboard,..... The MC-1 drives, the M drive, the MR drive, 'n the Alpha 1 will all interchange amongst themselves,....
In other words, ya need a Pre-91 drive, 1990 or older,...

The Alpha, Gen.II will interchange with No other drives,....

'n ya need the 1.98:1 drive gear ratio, or yer 3.0l will never push the boat,....
